In a webi report where two charts are defined, the second one linked to the first one. When a category is selected in the first chart the second one values change because they are linked.

 

Currently, when a corporate palette is defined for both charts, the first one follows the palette starting from the first color but the second one not allways starts from the first corporate palette color. One category selection starts in linked chart from first corporate palette color but following selection don't start from de begining, it continues with the following color.

 

We would like that there could be an alternative mechanism of assigning colors that started in linked charts allways from the first corporate palette color. We think this mechanism is more understandable.

 

It has been explained in the attached document.

Hello,

 

Charts in Web Intelligence report change color when Refresh on Open is enabled.

The color assignment changes each time it is opened in Web Intelligence.

The palette remains the same but the color assignment of the lines or slices is changed on each open.

=> SAP Note 2050761


Manual assignment or freezing colors is not possible as the chart must be shown dynamically in the predefined sort order of our CI colors. As the dataset changes every year this is also no possibility to recreate the charts.

Hello,

 

We would like to monitor our sales by day of the week (from Monday to Sunday), the problem is that on Saturdays there are never sales but we sould still like Saturday to appear in the chart.

 

This old challenge was typically solved with the use of an auxiliiary masterfile or dummy rows, but we came across this wonderful formula that "fills up the wholes" and apparently does the job. Unfortunately this is only supported for day, quarter, month and year and the problem is that when trying to use it for Weekdays it does not aggregate or shows #MULTIVALUE

 

Our request is to enhance the TimeDim formula and make it operative for all sorts of time dimensions (namely for weeks / day of the week), or at least improve this functionality so days can be aggregated.

The benefit for this is to make WebI easier to use when building dashboard-like deliverables or demos.

Currently it isn't possible to group NULL Values into a specific custom group in WebI as they don't apear in the list of values.

 

The only workaround ist to put a variable into the grouping to replace NULL by something else.

The pain in this case is, that if you have an existing custom grouping in which you want to add "NULL" you would have to rebuild the whole grouping as the underlying object would change as you would have to use the new variable instead of the object from a query.

 

This feature was available in DeskI and I would expect it to work in WebI as well.

When changing data sources in Web Intelligence documents, there is no way to retain the previous Context Selections even though they appear to be available when executing a GET /parameters call. This prevents the ability to automate changing data sources as users are forced to re-select Context Selections in order to change data sources.
 
The getParameters.PNG contains the GET /parameters response from the RESTful Web Service against a Webi document with Context Selections:
 
As displayed in the getParameters.PNG, the existing Context Selections are displayed (i.e.  Dim_Orders_Historical, Fact_Invoice_Historical, and Fact_Invoice_Historical) however when attempting to change the data source using the POST /dataproviders call, the following response displayed in postChangeDP.PNG appears (this is an excerpt).

We desperately required function "input control user response" as like "userResponceof".

 

Many users are like to display the information in the report about what is selected in the input controls and

 

moreover we can do conditional calculations/display in the report based on InputControls selection.

Current situation: When prompted for a Universe through Web Intelligence, the display lists all universes and the corresponding server and folder names. This interface is confusing and does not match the normal user experience when working with folders.

 

Recommended solution: We would like to see a universe folder visualization that matches that of Windows folders, i.e., as seen in BI Launchpad. This would remove lots of the clutter that we see now, and it would be much more intuitive for report developers to search and select the universes they need.

 

Use case: The current visualization (attached) runs contrary to how we normally view and use folders. We will have 5 sites and each site will have 10 universes, and each site will need all the universes from the other 4 sites. Request:  Make the export to CSV functionality in Web view/design mode and scheduling like the export to CSV archive added to applet edit mode in 4.1.

 

Multiple data providers are used and merged into one table in WebI.  If the report is exported to CSV (in Web view/design mode) or scheduled to CSV, there is a sepaerate header row with correpsonding data.

 

For exmaple, two queries are merged into one table in WebI.  You would expect that the exported CSV contains data as in the WebI report, one header row and combined data (this was added for saving as CSV Archive format in 4.1 when in applet mode).  The actual CSV file comes out with one header row (query 1), data (query 1), header row (query 2), data (query 2).

When a Data Provider does not return any results, a warning message is displayed: "No data to retrieve in [DP name]".

 

In certain cases, the absence of data may be considered normal, and we would rather not display the warning message, which can be confusing to users.  This option should be available at the data provider level.

When scheduling a Webi report, and defining the name of the report to be exported, there's an option to 'Add Placeholder'.

 

This drop-down allows the scheduler to append a piece of metadata to the name of the report being exported. Choices include:

  • Title
  • ID
  • Owner
  • DateTime
  • Email Address
  • User Full Name
  • File Extension

 

Notice anything missing??? DATE!!! EVERYONE that I've talked to (that schedules Webi reports) really needs DATE - NOT DateTime.

 

DateTime is translated as: %SI_STARTTIME%

 

All we need is another choice for DATE, that will translate to: %SI_STARTDATE%

 

When DateTime is added as a placeholder, the report name looks like this:Daily Report 2010-11-12-05-27-21

 

Users want it to say: Daily Report 2010-11-12. If users want the report name to have the date AND time in the title, DateTime is there. But what do we do if they only want the date added to the end of a "Daily" report???

 

Users HATE that unusual DateTime format.

 

Please add: DATE as a placeholder. And %SI_STARTDATE% to translate
