Currently we dont have table level encryption in HANA . We can do this in oracle with special license type however in HANA you can encrypt at volume level NOT at the table level .

There is need to encrypt table at HANA level for sensitive data in Enterprise . Please let us know when single table encryption will be available in HANA .

SAP profiles today are mixed in the sense that they are in the order they are manually entered in RZ10 without any alphabetical listing, and they do not have an immediate meaning to give clue what purpose it serves without having a deep dive.

This exists in SAP Default, and Instance profiles, where an innocent parameter like login_no_automatic_user_sapstar can exist, but if it was under a section called Security, then its purpose would become more apparent and obvious. This is a simple, basic parameter example and as the compexity of the systems grow for complex systems, there will be other parameters which can equally benefit the customer by making them available in their related section.

Other sections can be Administration, Performance, and Monitoring, and against each section there can be a number of SAP profile parameters grouped together to make their relevance more pronounced and easy to support, especially when Security guys mention SOX!

This command has to gracefully suspend all connections and shutdown all threads for sending the replication server into hibernate mode. When users need to use this command to purge a queue or zap an open transaction, the connection, which is having a problem, often cannot be suspended and suspending connection sits  either for a long time or forever due to a large transaction rollback or network connection failure.  If users issue sysadmin hibernate_on command in this scenario, the command will keep waiting for the connection suspension and doesn't return. Users have to shut down the server and restart it in a stand-alone mode to do the queue maintenance. Sometimes sysadmin hibernate_on fails and gets into rs_recovery table. Users have to delete the row from the system table to make the server into the normal mode. It would be good if the command can come with an option like 'force' for users to choose to force connections to suspend.

This command puts the whole server into hibernat

SAP Replication Server (SRS) needs to improve its GUI interface to make it easier to build replication environments.  Have noticed that there is an increase in releases comming out and they always contain some new command that would be better serverd in a point and click environment.

Back in Sybase Replication Server 12.6 the Sybse Central GUI with the Replication Server plugin was very robust.  You could do anything in this GUI except build the RS.  You could manage it, monitor it, even replay transactions that had failed once the correction was made on the replicate database.

I feel that Since RS 12.6 RS has become more complex and harder to build unless you are very proficent with scripting environments and I feel that now more than ever SRS needs a very robust but simple GUI to help users build, manage and monitor their replication environments.
